Many family members and friends have asked what they can do to help. Peter and I have come up with the following response:
Local community:
Donating time to child care. Chloe will now be going back to school Monday through Thursday from 9:00 to 3:00 but Dylan is a bundle of energy who loves playmates.
Cooking. We have been blessed with friends helping during the dinner hour to prep food and clean up after dinner. It is immensely helpful to me and very enjoyable to have friends around our dinner table most nights.
Food shopping. Picking up a shopping list and bringing food to the house is another huge help.
Errands. Occasionally I need help running errands or picking something up in Byron.
Beach trips. Peter finds going for walks/swims at the beach to be greatly soothing and invigorating to his body and soul. However he can not drive and I often can not drop everything to take him. Mates to make beach runs are being sought by Peter on a regular basis.
Worldwide:
Prayer/healing energy. This is so powerful and very much felt by Peter. It helps us to continue to cope well and connects us to clarity of guidance. Really. Thank you. Your time is valuable and your focused thoughts do make a difference.
MonetaryDonations. Peter hasn’t worked since October 27th and we are looking at treatments following his surgery outside of the Australian Medicare system which will cost substantial amounts of money. Many friends have wanted to make a financial donation. A health fund is in fact going to be necessary.
Our local friends have taken it upon themselves to create a wonderfully entertaining event to raise money for Peter’s treatment. Two musicians in our community, Miten and Premal have recently done a concert and donated A$1,000 in proceeds from CD sales to Peter’s health fund. Peter’s stepfather has opened an account in Luxembourg with a starting contribution of €10,000.
There are monthly ongoing expenses associated with supplements, the plant medicines from the scientist in Sydney, eating all organic food (about $300-400 extra per month) and bodywork (combined these add up to approx. $2,000/month). We have also upgraded to a very good water filter ($700 contributed toward our new filter from friends in Byron area) and will be upgrading our juicer to one recommended for cancer protocols (well researched by Peter’s sister).
As far as what new and/or alternative treatments we will pursue after the surgery and dendritic cell vaccine? That will depend on how Peter’s healing unfolds.
We are currently looking at a doctor in NYC whom Peter would have to see every six months for an indefinite period so travel expenses would add up. (The doctor’s fee is approx. US$6,000-8,000 a year). We are also open to possibly traveling to Brazil to see a healer there, John of God.
I hope this serves to let you know the various ways in which we could
utilize help. I am amazed at how desperately and sincerely our family and
friends want to contribute. Your love and care are immensely felt. ‘Thank
you’ is too shallow to express how we feel. Love and blessings to
you all.
