Hi All,
Just wanted to let you know that Peter is continuing to recover well. He has had a few minor set backs but over all he is getting stronger and sharper each day. The first several days home he slept a lot. Now he wanders from bed to the rest of the house and back. He even eats his meals at the table. He is still wiped out and a bit foggy at times but certainly in much better shape than he was even a week ago.
I have come to really realize and appreciate all the myriad little things that Peter handles for our family. For instance I am pretty low tech and didn't even know how to bcc the emails to all of you. It wasn't something I necessarily cared about in the middle of the night! Sorry. Peter lovingly told me today that my inabilities at the computer really make him want to get better quickly!! I took that as a very good sign. And he even told me how to do it ... a sign that his memory is coming back in spades!
It will be two weeks tomorrow since he went to the hospital. The doctors said that this illness is a wild card in terms of recovery time. They said he could feel much better in two weeks, or two months, or longer. I think the end of the month will see him at least close to back to his normal self if what is happening now is any indication. Each day leaves me also thinking that he will recover his full mental capacities. We still don't have a firm diagnosis (awaiting test results) but clearly he is healing.
So many people have been such solid support. Our Byron Bay community continues to support us. I am deeply grateful.
Our dear friend, Loka, is on her way from the states to help out for a couple of weeks. Other friends from California have also offered to drop their daily lives and come out to help. I am blown away by the generosity around my little family! I am glad to not have to take up those offers right now and look forward to spending pleasurable, holiday time with as many of you as possible as soon as possible!
Chloe and Dylan are happy to see their papa home again. They have handled this quite well though stretched at times. They have spent a lot of time with Deryn and Saul who have held them with very loving arms. Many others have also helped make them feel loved and cared for. That was such a huge help and allowed me to really be with Peter. I think over all it has been a growthful time for them. Dylan has been delighting us this week by beginning to walk in earnest .... very cute!
Again, THANK YOU for your love, support and prayers. They have definitely made a positive difference.
Much love,
Jennifer
